Augh it has been way too long and I'm afraid I've almost forgotten everything about The Awakening, because I just forget everything about everything, even when it's as memorable as The Awakening and I loved that book so much...! But yesss I think that book was such a strong influence on the way I've viewed women, married life, walking into water, and the death drive, ever since-- of course maybe what that novel presents is not the only way to look at things, but god what a way to look at things, and what a way to talk about seeing them that way. *_____* IF I REREAD IT, WILL I LIKE IT AS MUCH?
