Hur de Derp
1) Oh wow RL Stuff
Going to be internetless for the weekend! Going down to SoCal for my brother's graduation, and staying at my granny's. As an azn granny goes, she has no interwebs, a tiny satellite tv, and a slight chip on her shoulder. But she's not feeling well, and I still love her. ALSO, my bro took Fluffy down with him but WE ARE TAKING HIM BACK YES. Houses are lonely without dogs. And brothers. I have a feeling this trip will be rife with family lectures/disagreements/time bombs and happy/sad feelings. Must...not...be...selfish.. On the bright side I will be wearing a dress I like, and shoes I like-(wedges I drew on), and will hopefully take decent pictures to bring back to show.
2) Steven Brust Owns a Part of Me.
I have a love/hate relationship with my public library because since they've built like 3 new ones the quality of books has gone down a ton...but TODAY I FOUND THE NEW TALTOS NOVEL. TIASSA!! *fistpump* It actually came out this year, and there are books marked "new" from ages ago. But this is besides the point, I love this series. It is really engaging, with a rich world and a likable main character that actualfax ages. By this book he's in his forties or so, and has all these COOL CONNECTIONS to people and goes on amazing adventures with his companion-something that looks like lizard dragon and talks to him in his mind, and is snarky and fun. The writing style changes, but all the stories are just oodles of fun. (trying out outdated lingo, btw) There is angst and romance and adventure and ADVENTURE and magic and BAMFERY. So much BAMFing, I reread the story.
3) Superhero Movies~~
So I've watched Thor(with someone who ended up hating it) and then watched X-men(with someone who saw it already but ships them so much she saw it with me). In the end, all I have to say is that they picked some pretty pretty people. Plot = meh, special effects = decent, actor's attractiveness = off the charts. I can't even spell that word attractiveness the first time around because I was thinking about blue, blue eyes and swishy hair and *floats off into space* Equal amounts of manpain and badly scripted het romances...in X-men it just smacked you in the face.
4) Art
TEAM ANGST GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! To practice I've drawn angsty Victorian/idek era Arthur staring forlornly at his glass of wine as a chibi. To rev up my skillz I've practiced some pretty boys in different styles. I may get some use out of my Twitter account, and hopefully with collab with cool people and read lots of good fic and liven up my summer. WALLOW IN THE SEA OF BEAUTEOUS TEARS.
