ooh well I think she's probably hear/read most shounen then... Some of my favorites are:
One Piece (suuper long and a WIP that is lighthearted and focuses on friendship and dreams, the art may take some getting used to and the length is a bit daunting if you're new but its worth it! Pirates and powers and great writing. http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/
Ao no Excorcist is about a strength and friends and has a pretty cool premise and world, but some of the characters annoy me. xD The art is really good and easy to like. http://www.mangahere.com/manga/ao_no_exorcist/
Kekkaishi is rooted in Japanese folklore and the only one out of the bunch that's completed...It has some really great character development and interesting twists. http://www.mangahere.com/manga/kekkaishi/
And I don't know if she'll like the Korean webcomic format, but The Tower of God is about...fighting your way up a tower, with lots of politics and friendship feels. Kubera is set in a fantasy world with "gods" and it also has lots of intrigue! Noblesse is a really popular one about vampires and super humans carving a niche for themselves and coming to terms with themselves and the past, with evil government factions, cool powers, and some pretty good humor!
